Simple Tips to Make Recycling Easier
Recycling doesn't have to be a hassle. Recyclables usually include 1 and 2 plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, tin cans, clear glass and brown or green glass. There are some ways to make it quite simple! One way is to set aside a trash can just for recyclables. If your town requires you to separate your recyclables, when the can is full, just have bags ready to sort the items into. One tip to make this process a lot less messy: rinse out your recyclables before tossing them in the recyclable can. You can save space in your recycling can by crushing cans and plastics. You can also designate a separate can for each group of recyclables. Typically, most families go through several items packaged in plastic. It's probably a good idea to keep your largest recycling can for these items. For items that you don't use as much, such as glass jars, you may want to just put those in a bag to save on space instead. Those mountains of plastic bags your groceries come in also have a home. Most grocery stores and large chains have recycling bins located at the front of their stores. Turn recycling into a family chore. Explain to your kids how recycling is an easy way to make the earth a better and cleaner place to live!
