This group, the 'West Coast Environmental Law', is trying to protect the environment through the legal system and the laws. The group, has been in place since 1974. They have a staff that includes very dedicated lawyers and legal analysts that help educate people about the environmental issues that effect people of Canada and the world. They proudly work with people in every level of government and private sector individuals. They also work with members of 'First Nation' governments, to promote proactive laws, to ensure and maintain a healthy environment.This/tag helps explain it more. Their primary goal is to educate ordinary citizens, about laws in the making and new uncharted laws, that can help protect and sustain the environment in a healthy 'green' way. They use powerful tool to educated and motivate the masses about a environmentally sound and healthy environment. The group is currently trying to educate citizens of Canada on the 'Enbridge pipelines'. They are urging residents and friends of a clean, safe environment to be heard at the hearings that will take place all over British Columbia in January and February of 2012. They are taking oral statements from concerned citizens that want to be heard, but can not attend in person.

Vancouver, Canada is home to the pioneering GLOBE Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping companies find sensible and economical solutions to environmental dilemmas. Through various avenues such as events, consulting, and project management, the GLOBE Foundation is teaching companies that promoting both sustainable development and green initiatives is a winning strategy and is a wonderful business opportunity for the company and for the environment. The GLOBE Foundation strongly believes that companies will be more successful and competitive if they decide to make sound environmental decisions by choosing to provide clean technologies.

The GLOBE Foundation has successfully established a consulting section called GLOBE Advisors, who are experienced in various areas of project management and market research and have started several projects to promote solutions to environmental issues. One of these projects is called the EXCEL Partnership, which consists of a group of leaders from major Canadian companies that are committed to incorporating and integrating sustainable development into their business models. The corporation leaders are focused on constant improvement and often meet with key officials and stakeholders to further their cause. The EXCEL Partnership gives Canadian corporation members a competitive and innovative advantage over other non-participating corporations.More info here: Angela Cropper, Special Advisor to the Executive Director of UNEP, on the importance of Rio20

It can be hard to keep environmental issues like water conservation in mind in your day-to-day life. When you're brushing your teeth, taking a shower, or getting a glass of water, your mind probably isn't on the conservation of resources; you're probably thinking about your day and what you're going to do with it. Though you may realize it's important to consider the environment, you may also feel overwhelmed when called to action. But you don't have to feel that way; there are simple and easy ways to conserve, and you can feel better about your part in taking care of the environment.
Small ways to conserve water are everywhere. When you brush your teeth, turn the water off. If you leave the faucet running, all of that wasted water adds up.
Keep showers short; you can get clean in five minutes.
Fill a pitcher with water and refrigerate it for drinking. This ensures that you aren't running the faucet each time you would like a glass of water.
Avoid automatic timers on your sprinklers; these could lead to your lawn being overwatered.
If you use your garden hose to clean your driveway, consider sweeping it instead.
You may also want to check for leaks around your household regularly to avoid more wasted water without your knowledge.
These actions are all very basic, but they make a difference in the conservation of water, and do so with little effort.

Recycling doesn't have to be a hassle. Recyclables usually include 1 and 2 plastics, newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans, tin cans, clear glass and brown or green glass. There are some ways to make it quite simple! One way is to set aside a trash can just for recyclables. If your town requires you to separate your recyclables, when the can is full, just have bags ready to sort the items into. One tip to make this process a lot less messy: rinse out your recyclables before tossing them in the recyclable can. You can save space in your recycling can by crushing cans and plastics. You can also designate a separate can for each group of recyclables. Typically, most families go through several items packaged in plastic. It's probably a good idea to keep your largest recycling can for these items. For items that you don't use as much, such as glass jars, you may want to just put those in a bag to save on space instead. Those mountains of plastic bags your groceries come in also have a home. Most grocery stores and large chains have recycling bins located at the front of their stores. Turn recycling into a family chore. Explain to your kids how recycling is an easy way to make the earth a better and cleaner place to live!
